When Joe and Charlotte Giordano realized they had nothing in common with their neighbors anymore, they found a new home – and new neighbors – at K. Hovnanian's Four Seasons at Metedeconk Lakes.

"We lived in the wonderful community of Basking Ridge," said Charlotte. "But all of our neighbors are now the ages of our children and we didn't have anything in common with them. A couple of people who are the same age as us moved to an active adult community and loved it. We decided that would be a good change for us."

Joe and Charlotte also recently purchased a home in Boynton Beach, Florida, and will be dividing their time between the two places. They'll be in Florida for three or four months during the winter, so they're glad they don't have to worry about snow removal and other maintenance issues on their New Jersey home. All K. Hovnanian homes are virtually maintenance-free.

While the couple originally wanted to move closer to their children and grandchildren, Four Seasons at Metedeconk Lakes offered a location irresistibly close to the Jersey Shore.

"We looked at the community and really loved it and everything it had to offer," Charlotte said. "We keep a boat in nearby Long Beach Island – we've been boaters for years."

Once they decided that Four Seasons at Metedeconk Lakes was the community for them, it was time to choose a home. That was an easy decision.

"From the time we saw the floor plans, we liked the layout of the Captiva Loft," said Charlotte. "It offered the perfect setup for us and our large family, especially with the addition of the loft. We call the loft the 'family apartment.' It's where everyone stays when they visit."

After choosing their home, the couple visited K. Hovnanian's Home Design Gallery to personalize their new home. They selected the gourmet kitchen package, which includes a bay window, upgraded cabinets, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. They added a sunroom with a tile floor and continued that floor throughout the family room and kitchen. Hardwood floors were added to the living room, dining room and foyer. They extended the size of their master bedroom by adding a bay window. The couple also added a beautiful brick front to their home.

"K. Hovnanian took care of everything," she said. "We were able to just move in and be comfortable."

And they did just that. They recently moved into their home, which features 2,927 square feet of living space, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Though they are still getting settled, they are already getting involved in the community.

"I've joined the women's association and have already taken a couple of trips to New York City and Atlantic City," Charlotte said. "And Joe has joined the men's association. He plays pool with a group of gentlemen at the clubhouse. He also likes the workout room. We're both looking forward to participating in more activities."

They keep busy with many activities, but the couple makes sure to enjoy relaxation time in their new home.

"We have the woods behind us and a pond view," Charlotte said. "It's a nice place to relax."

Charlotte credits their sales consultant, Mike McGreevey, with helping them find the home and location that best fit their needs.

"It was a great experience beginning with the first day we walked into Four Seasons at Metedeconk Lakes," Charlotte explained. "Mike took us around and showed us all the available home sites. He pointed out the differences between them and what homes would best fit the space. He helped us select the right location and the right home. We couldn't be happier." 

K. Hovnanian's Four Seasons at Metedeconk Lakes offers a wide choice of home styles, an incredible, 28,000-square-foot clubhouse and many other country club amenities, all in a park-like setting.

At the heart of the Four Seasons lifestyle is the world-class two-story clubhouse. This facility offers fun, fitness, relaxation and socialization with three swimming pools, including one designed for the entire family. One pool is inside for year-round use. Luxurious master suites will have oversized baths, walk-in closets and cathedral ceilings. There will be storage closets and full laundry rooms.

Families can personalize their homes with cathedral ceilings, fireplaces, bay windows, sunrooms, and spacious storage above the garage accessible by staircase. Dens can be turned into bedrooms. Pricing here begins in the mid $300s.

The homes at Four Seasons at Metedeconk Lakes meet NJ Energy Star Homes criteria, meaning each home will save its owners 30 percent on utility bills compared to non-Energy Star certified homes. These homes will be environmentally sensitive in other ways, as well. Each will have a beautiful backyard that needs less maintenance, water and fertilizer, but still creates ample space for barbecues or badminton.

K. Hovnanian's Four Seasons at Metedeconk Lakes is located in Jackson Township in beautiful Ocean County. Calling itself the Gateway to the Jersey Shore, Jackson is one of the largest townships in the state and offers a variety of amenities. The area offers upscale shopping at area malls, the excitement of horse racing at two local tracks and fast access to the beautiful Jersey Shore.

To visit, take the Garden State Parkway North or South to Exit 98. Pay toll at the exit and follow signs for Interstate 195 West. Continue about 10 miles and take Exit 22, the Jackson Mills-Georgia exit. Bear right at the ramp on to Jackson Mills Road and turn left at the traffic light onto Harmony Road. Community entrance is approximately one-quarter of a mile on the left.

From the New Jersey Turnpike, take Exit 7A on to Interstate 195 East. Continue to Exit 22, Jackson Mills-Georgia. At ramp, make a left turn over I-195 and turn left at the traffic light onto Harmony Road. Community entrance is approximately a quarter mile on the left.
