Parks
Estell Manor Park: Estell Manor Park is located three miles south of Mays Landing along Route 50. The 1,672 acre park is the center for Atlantic County's environmental education programs. Recreational programs include a 2 mile exercise trail, softball and soccer fields, cross country ski trails, fishing and picnicking.
Gaskill Park: Gaskill Park is located at the head of the tidal portion of the Egg Harbor River in Mays Landing. It includes a variety of active and passive recreational features such as fishing, boating, and picnicking. The park is an excellent site for photography and is the site of numerous weddings throughout the year.
Weymouth Park: Weymouth Park is located just north of the intersection of Routes 322 and 559. It is located on an historically significant piece of land. It is the site of the former Weymouth Iron Forge and Papermills. The park provides canoe access points, picnic tables and grills.
Penny Pot Park: Penny Pot Park is located on a 20 acre site in Folsom Township just off Route 322, 561 and 8th Avenue. The park includes areas for picnics, fishing, and canoe access. It is also considered a great starting point for a canoe trip along the Great Egg Harbor River.
Lenape Park: Lenape Park is located on a 1,900 acre tract and is the largest park in the county system. The county purchased the park in 1978. The park property protects major portions of the "wild and scenic" Great Egg Harbor River. Lenape Park is a great location for hiking, camping, picnicking, boating, fishing, and environmental study.
River Bend Park: River bend Park consists of 535 acres located at the confluence of Matthew's Run and the Great Egg Harbor River along County Route 559. This facility was designed as an active recreation center. Its facilities include lighted softball fields, public boating ramps, nature interpretation facilities, and picnic areas.
Fox Nature Center: This facility, located in the Estell Manor Park, serves as Atlantic County's environmental education center. The Nature Center provides an excellent opportunity to see educational displays and wildlife exhibits reflective of the Atlantic County area. Guided tours of the park start here and many other instructional programs are held here throughout the year.
